Gun Toting Students Arrested At West Covina High School!

by Gabriel Dorman on May 1, 2009

The Los Angeles Times, citing a story from the Associated Press, reports that two teenage high school students have been arrested today for bringing guns onto a West Covina high school campus.

The two students allegedly stole the handguns, brought to the Covina High School campus and were planning an attack at a school assembly.

West Covina Police Lt. Pete Mena said the stepfather of one of the boys reported that his handguns had been stolen from his gun locker. Investigators believe the man’s 16-year-old stepson pried the locker open about a month ago and gave the guns to his 15-year-old friend.

Apparently the boys admitted to taking the guns and bringing them to school on three occasions. They further admitted to planning an attack at a school assembly but did not specify as to exactly when and if there were any specific targets.

The teen boys have been arrested on suspicion of suspicion of burglary, gun possession and making criminal threats.
