The Orange County Register reports that three men have been arrested on suspicion of commiting sex crimes involving minor children
David Brown, 34, of Lake Forest, Richard Chaney, 23, Costa Mesa and Brock Jackson, 21, of Rancho Santa Margarita were arrested this morning by The SAFE Team, a multi-agency task force that investigates crimes against children.
Brown is alleged to have a four-month sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl that he met online. He came to the attention of law enforcement after he was seen attempting to speak to the girl on school campus. The investigation eventually led officials to discover that Brown portrayed himself as a 22-year -old on a social networking site in an effort to meet girls online.
Chaney is alleged to have a 14-year-old girl perform live sex acts on video for him and then later having sex with her. Investigators received a complaint from the girl’s mother who told them her daughter had performed sex acts on her Webcam for Chaney and that Chaney had sex with her at some point later. A subsequent serach of Chaney’s apartment turned up a video of him having sex with an unconscious woman.
As for Jackson, Fullerton Police Department investigators found hundreds of videos and roughly 6,000 photos of child pornography included images of very young children during their investigation into a December vehicle theft.
Chaney and Jackson are being in federal court. Jackson is being charged in Orange County Superior Court with oral copulation of a minor, intercourse with a minor, and digital penetration of a minor. He was released after surrendering to authorities and posting $100,000 bail.
