Swedish Rapper Guilty in Road Rage Murder

A Swedish rapper was found guilty of murder today in connection with a road rage incident in which he killed a pedestrian. The Los Angeles jury found the Swedish rapper guilty of second-degree murder for assaulting and running over 55-year-old John Osnes, a jazz pianist and pedestrian rights activist.

According to witnesses who testified at the trial, in November 2008, David Jassy, a Swedish rapper and record producer, punched kicked and ran over pedestrian John Osnes after Osnes slammed his hands on the front of Jassy’s rented SUV for crossing into the crosswalk. Osnes was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The next day, David Jassy was arrested in connection with the road rage murder after investigators were able to trace the license of his rented vehicle.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Monica Bachner, denied Jassy’s request for reduced bail finding that Jassy poses a flight rish given his 11-year-old son lives in Sweden and strong foreign family ties.

The Swedish rapper faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life when he returns to court for sentencing in March.
