A million dollars worth of marijuana was seized today in police raids in Tustin and Santa Ana. Acting on an anonymous tip, police uncovered a major marijuana cultivation operation when they raided warehouses and homes in Tustin and Santa Ana resulting in the seizure of numerous weapons and marijuana with an estimated street value of $1 million.

The seizure of the $1 million of marijuana all started a few months ago when Tustin police received an anonymous tip regarding a house located at 17501 Linda Lane in Tustin. An investigation was opened after which police surveillance of the home led investigators to a warehouse in Santa Ana.

On Tuesday, the $1 million dollars of marijuana was seized in police raids on a number of locations as follows:

• Tustin police raided the Linda Lane house and located marijuana, scales, packaging material, handguns, assault rifles.
• Officers with the Special Investigations Unit then searched a warehouse located at 620 S. Grand Ave. #105 in Santa Ana and found over 600 marijuana plants in various stages of cultivation along with a surveillance system to detect anyone coming near the warehouse.
• Police raided another warehouse located at 1118 E. Walnut St. Unit P in Santa Ana and found more than 300 marijuana plants in various stages of cultivation.
• Police searched a home in Santa Ana located at 1115 E. Third St. and located more than 10 pounds of processed marijuana.

Four men were arrested in connection with the seizure of the $1 million of marijuana and they have been identified as Joseph Mario Frias, 45, of Tustin, Jose Luis Bravo Cuevas, 55, of Santa Ana, Mario Donan Orejel, 22, and Mark Anthony Thiry, 21. All four men have been have been arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on drug related charges. Police expect more arrests to in connection with the seizure of the $1 million of marijuana.
