Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies seized an estimated $1 million of marijuana from inside a Lake Forest home Thursday night. Acting on an anonymous tip, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies raided the home and found the $1 million of marijuana being cultivated under an elaborate marijuana grow operation.
According to Lt. Adam Powell of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s special investigations team, the seizure of the $1 million in marijuana all started after they received an anonymous tip from a concerned citizen in the area. On Thursday night at approximately 8 p.m., Sheriff’s investigators serve a search warrant at the Lake Forest home located along the 21500 block of Montbury Drive.
Once inside the home, Sheriff’s investigators discovered an elaborate marijuana grow operation complete with a sophisticated lighting and irrigation system as well as an custom electrical system that had been tweaked to prevent the electrical levels from being read.
The occupant of the $1 million marijuana Lake Forest home was identified as 40-year-old Derrick Frisco who is believed to have been renting the home for the past six years. Derrick Frisco was taken into custody.
The investigation was halted after investigators found a significant amount of mold in the Lake Forest home resulting in experts being called out to the house to test the air to make sure it was safe for Sheriff deputies to continue.
In addition to the $1 million of marijuana, investigators also found about 40 vials of steroids and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency inside the Lake Forest home.
