What Can I Do For You?

As a Los Angeles and Orange County Criminal Defense DUI Lawyer for the past 14 years, I have successfully defended numerous clients accused of criminal wrongdoing on a large variety of criminal charges including, but not limited to, DUI, domestic violence, drug charges, theft crimes, assault and battery, lewd conduct, juvenile crimes, child molestation, and murder. I understand that being charged with a crime is an incredibly traumatic experience and often one of the more difficult times in a person’s life. Undoubtedly, you are nervous, confused and left wondering what’s going to happen? How does this all work? Am I going to jail? How is this going to impact my life? Do I need to hire a criminal defense lawyer? And, most important, how can I help you?.

Fight to Achieve the Best Result for You

All Los Angeles or Orange County DUI or criminal cases are different. The clients are different. The facts are different. The goals are different. So naturally, the results will be different. Some of you may not be guilty of what you are accused and want a dismissal or trial while others may need some damage control to help lessen the consequences. Whatever the case, the representation is personal and should be treated as such.

Listen to You

Effective and competent criminal defense representation must begin with an honest and open line of communication with the client. Your voice, needs and expectations matter and should be the cornerstone of any successful criminal defense in order for me to truly understand what will best serve you, the client.

Provide Real Information

If you are looking to hire a Los Angeles or Orange County criminal defense lawyer, it is probably fair to say that you are in a tough spot. You probably want to know how the criminal process works and what is going to happen to you. While, words like “dismissal” and “reduced charges” are great they are not always appropriate and can often be misleading. I will communicate with you honestly and you will have a firm understanding of what is really possible for you case.

Direct Access to Your Lawyer

You will have direct access to me, the actual lawyer who will handle your case from start to finish. No assistants, no associates, no other lawyers, only me. Many Los Angeles or Orange County DUI and criminal defense law firms will often assign your case to an inexperienced attorney after you have met with the partner and retained them to represent you. You should settle for nothing less than meeting/speaking with the actual lawyer who will handle your case from start to finish.

Keep You Informed

Chances are that if I am in your life, it is for something of great importance with the potential for far reaching consequences. I understand this and, therefore, understand that you need to be kept informed about what is happening on your case, why its happening and what needs to happen next to achieve the result you deserve.

Provide Local Court Knowledge

The first step to achieving a successful result is to hire a criminal defense lawyer with specific knowledge of the court in which your case is filed. All counties and courts are different and, as such, have a different way of assigning value to cases. For example, a 2nd DUI will be punished much more severely in Orange County than it would in Los Angeles County. I know this because for over 14 years, I have effectively represented clients throughout Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and Ventura County establishing relationships with prosecutors and judges along the way.

Get Involved Before Charges Are Filed

In some instances, it is possible for a Los Angeles or Orange County criminal defense lawyer to get involved in the process at an early stage in the proceeding and impact whether or not charges are filed or whether charges are filed as a felony or misdemeanor. Prosecutors often file charges based solely on what the police say happened which, unfortunately, does not always reflect what actually occurred. Sometimes an early defense investigation and/or negotiations with the District Attorney can favorably impact their ultimate decision.

Help with Bail and Release from Jail

If you or someone you love is being held in jail, I can assist in making arrangements to have a bail bondsman help secure your release or set a hearing in court to try to reduce the bail amount or have the court grant an “OR” (Own Recognizance) release.
