The Los Angeles Times reports that a suspect has been taken into custody after a pedestrian was killed in a fatal hit and run accident in Woodland Hills. After a brief standoff, police arrested the hit and run suspect bringing an end to a high speed police chase that resulted in the pedestrian being hit and killed as the suspected attempted to exit the freeway during the chase.
According to reports, the Woodland Hills hit and run all started when the suspect broke through a traffic break on the 101 Freeway resulting in a high speed police chase. As the hit and run suspect got off the freeway at Topanga Canyon Boulevard, he hit and killed a pedestrian on Ventura Boulevard.
The Woodland Hills hit and run suspect finally came to a stop after plowing into a fence along Ventura Boulevard and the 101 freeway. Reports indicated that the hit and run suspect was pinned in the driver’s seat along the fence and had to be extracted from the car by police. Police also may have had to use a taser to contain the hit and run suspect as well.
