Compton Hit and Run Driver Kills Elderly Woman

A Compton hit and run driver killed a 71-year-old woman yesterday after crashing into the woman’s car causing it to flip over. The Compton hit and run driver was arrested a few hours later after Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate him using the license plate from his car that was left at the scene of the deadly hit and run crash.

At approximately 2 p.m., the Compton hit and run driver was his SUV northbound on Wilmington Avenue near Raymond Street when he clipped a woman riding on a motorcycle. As the Compton hit and run driver made a U-turn to flee the scene, he crashed into a vehicle carrying 71-year-old Teresa Andrade. The impact of the crash caused Teresa Andrade to be ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the Compton hit and run driver fled the scene, he left his license plate behind which was eventually used by Sheriff’s deputies to locate him at a Compton residence where they found and detained three males, two of which are juveniles. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the Compton hit and run driver’s brought him into the Compton station where he surrendered.

The name of the Compton hit and run driver has not been released at this time.
