A Redondo Beach woman was arrested Wednesday morning for selling illegal firearms in Long Beach. The 36-year-old woman is accused of selling various types of guns including illegal assault weapons many of which belonged to her father.
Acting on a tip that a woman was illegally selling guns to people off the street, Violent Crime detectives with the Long Beach Police Department served a search warrant at the home of Tania McCree located on the 600 block of Camino Real. During the search of the home, police seized rifles, assault weapons and handguns.
After speaking with Tania McCree, detectives executed a second warrant at an undisclosed location in Torrance. All told, a total of 24 guns were seized, many of which belonged to McCree’s father and two that were reported stolen. Long Beach police also seized more than 4,ooo rounds of ammunition and a small amount of methamphetamine.
Tania McCree was arrested and booked on a number of gun related charges including unlawful possession of an assault weapon. McCree’s two accomplices, Emmet Flores, 32, of Santa Monica and Anjelica Quijada, 29, of El Segundo were also arrested for being felons in possession of firearms along with other charges.
