
Oxnard Police made seven DUI arrests during their stepped up Superbowl Sunday DUI Patrols yesterday. The increased Oxnard Superbowl Sunday DUI enforcement was aimed at reducing the number of DUI-related incidents as, statistically, Superbowl Sunday is one of the worst days for DUI and alcohol-related collisions.
The Oxnard Superbowl Sunday DUI saturation patrol was conducted from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The results of the Superbowl Sunday DUI saturation patrol are as follows:
- 90 traffic stops
- 12 DUI investigations
- Seven drivers arrested for DUI
- 27 traffic citations issued
- 8 vehicles towed
Of the seven drivers arrested for DUI during the Oxnard Superbowl Sunday DUI saturation patrol, two of them registered blood alcohol concentrations over twice the legal limit of .08% and one alleged DUI driver was involved in a traffic crash in which prescription drugs were believed to be the intoxicant.
