TMZ reports that comedan Robert Schimmel was arrested early this morning on suspicion of domestic violence.
Police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance at Schimmel’s Calabasas home at about 12:30 this morning. Apparently, there was an argument that occurred between Schimmel and his wife that turned violent. Police observed physical marks on Schimmel’s wife and he was arrested.
Schimmel, who is a well known stand-up comic, is being held on $50,000 bail.
FYI: If the police go to a home as a result of a domestic violence call, the odds are, that someone is going to jail. The Police have no interest in mediating relationships. They are there to protect the public and the easiest way they can do that in these situations is to remove someone from the home.
