TMZ reports that Gerard Butler, the star of the hit film “300″, has been charged with misdemeanor criminal battery in connection with an incident a paparazzi photographer last October.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed charges yesterday alleging that Butler hit the photog in the mouth after a premiere party for the movie “RockNRolla” on October 7, 2008.
While Butler’s criminal defense lawyer, Blair Berk, declined comment, reps for the actor said that the photog was stalking Butler, chasing people through the streets. At one point, they claim the photog almost killed a pedestrian.
Butler is set to appear in court for his arraignment on June 10.
