The Los Angeles Times reports that Redmon O’Neal, son of actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett, was arrested Sunday morning while attempting to visit a friend in jail at the Los Angeles County Pitchess Detention Center in Santa Clarita.
O’Neal, 24, was arrested at approximately 9:30 a.m. pursuant to a routine security check of his vehicle in the South Facility of the Pitchess Detention center located near Magic Mountain. Before the search began, O’Neal told the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies that he had drugs on him. He was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and trying to bring narcotics into a secured jail facility. He was booked and bail was set in the amount of $25,000.
Making matters even worse, this is not the first time Redmond O’Neal has run into legal problems with drugs. Last fall, he and his dad were charged with felony drug possession stemming from a search of his father’s home in which police found methamphetamine. At that time, Redmond was on felony probation for drug possession and DUI stemming from his arrest for driving in Malibu with heroin and methamphetamine back in June of 2008.
