TMZ reports that Howard K. Stern, the late Anna Nicole Smith’s best friend, lawyer and part-time lover, just plead not guilty in Los Angeles Superior Court to charges that he, along with two doctors, conspired to provide a steady flow of prescription meds to Anna Nicole Smith for a few years leading up to her death.
Stern, along with Drs. Khristine Eroshevich and Sandeep Kapoor, entered not guilty pleas. The three defendants further provided handwriting samples to the district attorney so investigators can try to determine who signed what prescriptions.
The complaint specifically charges Sten with 1) unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance and 2) prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict. The complaint alleges that between July 2004 and January 2007, Stern, along with two other doctors conspired to furnish Anna Nicole Smith with pills to fuel her addiction.
